I have to say I don’t cook red meat very often but of course my husband loves a good steak and so does My Little Gluten Free Girl!  So my husband requested a steak for Father’s Day!  It really turned out yummy so here is what I did.

Father’s Day Steak


I like to just put sea salt and ground pepper on each side of the steak and let it sit out at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes before putting it in the skillet.  I also like to put a little barbecue steak grilling spice on them as well.


I started browning some mushrooms before I put the steaks in the skillet.  I let the mushrooms cook for about 7 minutes or so before I put the steaks in.



Cook the steaks on each side for about 5 – 6 minutes.  Just let them be, don’t move them around.

After I cook them in the skillet, I like to put them in the oven for another 6 – 7 minutes or so which gets them well done and gets a nice sear on them!
